
This Kukicha is made with the stems of leaves accumulated during the sorting process while making Sencha. Kukicha has a strikingly verdant color, and an inviting, fresh, green aroma and taste that is sweeter and lighter than sencha. Kukicha can also be served cold during the summer months. This kukicha is made by a master producer using the stems of Yabukita bushes and the leaves of Saemidori bushes to add more flavor. This tea is from the Shizuoka prefecture.

This tea is a variation of Hojicha from Shizuoka. After the leaf stems are aged over a period of four years, they are then roasted and mixed with toasted rice, producing a light, smooth, toasted taste with a wonderful aroma.

Bo Hojicha is made using stems that were sorted from the youngest leaves plucked during the first flush harvest. To preserve the rich flavor of the first flush tea, stems are roasted ever so lightly. Bo Hojicha is from the Kakegawa region of Shizuoka prefecture.

Hojicha is roasted Sencha or Bancha. Roasting reduces bitterness and creates a light, smooth taste and a toasted aroma. As roasting also reduces the caffeine content, Hojicha is often drunk at night in Japan. Our certified Organic Hojicha comes from Shizuoka.

This certified organic tea is a variation of Hojicha from Miyazaki prefecture. By picking leaves at a very specific time during the 2nd flush harvest, this master producer creates a special Hojicha which has a flowery aroma and a sweet taste unlike any other.

Our certified organic Kamairi is a pan fired version of Tama Ryoku Cha from Miyazaki prefectures, and has a rich toasted flavor.
